Rev Ian Gilmour successfully completed his amazing cycle ride from Edinburgh to John O’Groats with his daughter Jennifer during Christian Aid week. There’s still time to add your support to their fundraising page or to the Greenbank Church e-envelope. However you choose to donate, the funds will reach Christian Aid and their work supporting communities facing poverty, particularly in Kenya at this time.

Guild Summer Coffee Mornings
The Guild have no more meetings until October, but there will be time to catch up with friends at our usual Summer Coffee mornings at 10.30am on 5th May, 2nd June, 7th July, 11th August and 1st September. On 5th May the coffee morning will be held in the Hermitage Room, all the others will be in the Main Hall. There will be home baking and lots of chat. All are welcome to attend and there is no cost, but any donations received will be passed to the Guild’s current project Operation Hope Egypt.

August 2026 Holiday Club
Our themed summer holiday club runs in August, during the last full week before the new City of Edinburgh school term starts. It is open to all primary school age children including those due to start in Primary 1. Sessions run from 10am to 12.15pm each day and consist of arts and craft activities, stories, songs, videos, games, singing and snacks. A bible verse is memorised during the week and a highlight is usually the drama performed by teenage helpers, with a new episode each day. On the Sunday following the holiday club, the participating children and helpers are invited to share highlights of the holiday club activities with the Greenbank Church congregation during the 10.30am service.

Forest Church 25th April
The next Forest Church will be on Saturday 25th April 2–4pm. Meet at Greenbank Church, 2 Braidburn Terrace. All fun & activities will be outdoors. Children must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

Easter Fairtrade Stall 8th March
With Easter approaching the World Church Group are bringing some Fairtrade items to sell after church on 8th March. This stall will include Easter Eggs and Cards, Rice, Chocolate, Tea and Coffee.
For the Eggs, we will have some large ‘Real Easter Eggs’, some small individual eggs and some vegan eggs. There will be an opportunity to order some on the day, if we have sold out.
When buying fairly traded goods, which have been bought from marginalised producer groups, you are helping to alleviate poverty in developing countries.

World Day of Prayer 6th March
Our local World Day of Prayer service will be held in Morningside Parish Church at 10.30am on Friday 6th March, followed by refreshments. It is hoped that as many as possible from the local area will be able to attend.
The service this year has been written by the Christian women of Nigeria with the theme: “I Will Give You Rest: Come” (from Matthew 11:28).

Repair Café Sunday 22nd Feb 2–5pm
Greenbank Church Eco-Group are delighted to host a visit of the Edinburgh Repair Cafe to the main hall on Sunday 22nd February, 2–5pm. Last year, 22 items were repaired from a gramaphone to a much loved teddy bear. Do you have an item that needs an expert touch to extend its life? Book in a repair at repaircafeedinburgh@gmail.com to be sure the expert volunteers have the parts. Some walk-up spots will be available.
And it wouldn’t be a Greenbank welcome without coffee and home baking, so come along to enjoy some company and view the repair shop in action.
